The beauty of a carved wood sign is very hard to duplicate in any other medium. Carved wood signs can be left in the natural wood grain color or airbrush finished to a colorful three dimensional scene.

Sign Wood Carving techniques

Our signs in carved wood are made by three methods or a combination of all three techniques. The first method is to model the sign text or scene in a 3D modeling program, The resultant 3D file is sent to a CNC router and the sign is rendered in the Wood or HDU substrate. The sign text or scene is then hand carved dremeled and finish sanded to completion. Method three which is sometimes combined with the methods above is to hand router text or details into the sign. Hand carving signs one has to make use of many tools and some of those tools are hand made. At Signs alive.net we have a full professional wood machine shop to render any scene text or image you can think of in Exotic wood or High density urethane foam.

Sign Scenes and Objects

Here at Signsalive.net we have a complete library of 3D scenes objects and text for you to choose from all you have to do is let us know what your thinking of and we will provide you with the pertinent objects or scenes for you to choose from. If we do not have the scene that you want we are open to acquiring or using any scene from a third party if the scene is in a format that our software and machinery is compatible with. We can also custom render a completely original scene or text type dependent upon your needs or we can combine existing 3D models and objects to make a completely new 3d scene that meets your requirements.

Finishing your carved wood sign

Once your custom carved sign is finished being machined and hand carved and finished, it needs to be finished to add weatherability or just to add color and zest. We use the highest quality automotive type enamels and urethanes to bring out your sign and protect it from the elements. In fact we will work with you to make sure your new sign matches your building or surroundings. Signsalive.net uses the latest in HVLP spray equipment and we make every effort to be a "GREEN" company and dispose of hazardous waste in a responsible manner. We are also open to suggestions and using any type of custom or automotive paint you specify.
