People ask me all the time if a wood sign can be a durable sign. Keep on reading below to find out the answer.

The resounding answer is yes a very durable sign can be made out of carved or machined wood. I'd like to relate a story to you that illustrates my point. My family and myself went to a local restaurant the other day and being a sign maker I couldn't help but notice an old wood sign up on the wall of the building that was obviously old gray with age and a few character cracks to boot, but the sign was still attractive still caught peoples attention and was still doing the job it was intended to do. upon entering the restaurant My curiosity got the better of me and I asked the waitress how old the sign was. The waitress informed me that the sign was installed when the business opened over fifty years ago when the building had been built

There was nothing special about this sign, it was built out of pine and treated with preservative. but it just illustrates the fact that while there are more durable materials and we sell and make signs out of them, there is nothing wrong with good old wood construction just like many houses and old buildings are made of here in the USA and the world in general.
