A lot of our customers ask how we engrave
our plastic signs and metal tags. So we made up this page to show how
we do it. Most of our engraving is done on a cnc engraving machine that
is manufactured by the New Hermes engraving machine company. Our machine
is a four axis model that can engrave on round as well as flat objects.
Cnc engravers can engrave large letters as big as ten or twelve inches
or letters as small as 20 or 30 thousands of an inch high.(The inside
of a ring or an inscribed watch.) Our Engraver uses a special software called
Gravostyle that generates a code called g-code that instructs the cnc
(Computer Numerical Control) machine how to move and engrave. The engraving
can be an eighth of an inch deep or as shallow as a few thousands of
an inch. Cnc engravers such as the New Hermes machine can also scratch
engrave items with diamond tipped scribers into brass aluminum or stainless
steel plates. These metal plates can be used on trophys or something
as mundane as machine parts. Engraving on round objects can involve
wedding glasses or even the dials for any number of devices. Signsalive.net

you might ask what kind of designs can
be engraved. Our answer is to say that most line drawings and logos
are very easily engraved as well as most letter fonts. The engraving
work can be made in most vector art programs such as Adobe Illustrator
Corel draw or many other programs. If you have a special logo or other
artwork to be engraved please do not hesitate to ask. We can engrave
it.
